Focusing on IT
CFEA recognizes the increased focus on electronic communication and distribution within fraternal organizations.
Writers and editors once responsible for printed mediums are now responsible for the electronic complexities of websites, podcasts, video, and bulk email campaigns. Some are even responsible for the servers, networks, databases, and the information technology infrastructure that supports these new methods of delivery.
The growth in IT dependency among fraternal organizations has spawned new positions and responsibilities. Some fraternal organizations have even established an IT department composed of two to three people.
This year, CFEA will be offering an IT Track at its Midyear and Annual conferences that will cater to these IT professionals. While some workshops will focus on electronic deliverables such as podcasts and websites, other workshops will focus on production elements such as code and databases.
If your organization as an IT professional who would benefit from sharing ideas and solutions with like-minded peers, please encourage them to attend CFEA’s Midyear Conference in Indianapolis on November 17.
