Shawn Wheeler (Alpha Chi Omega) and I were talking about spam filtering today. I mentioned Lambda Chi Alpha uses Microsoft’s Exchange Intelligent Message Filter to weed out most of the junk. It’s free, so it meets our budget.

I also mentioned we use several Block List Services (e.g. SpamHaus, SpamCop) to filter emails before they even reach the IMF. In nine months, I can only think of about a dozen members who can’t email our staff due to being on one of the BLS’ — which is certainly a tolerable false-positive. The BLS’ we use are also free, though most accept donations.
